Urban Fairytales - Red Riding Hood

Red Riding Hood

The first challenge was finding somewhere for hair and make up, on location and for free. We were fortunate to find a coffee shop In Shad Thames to host us and it was great to work with Glitzy Flamingo again.

I had wanted a twist on the normal wolf theme so my lovely model brought Clive the Doberman to act as our 'wolf' for the shoot. It was my first time working with animals and I couldn't help thinking of the old phrase 'never work with animals' but I was unnecessarily worrying and he was an absolute star!

The shot on the steps of The Scoop turned out to be my favourite but as is often the case, was a lucky last minute decision. Starting out early really paid off and just as we're packing up to leave the location I spotted the steps unusually deserted, looking every bit the grey urban backdrop I was looking for.

It was a very cold and early Sunday morning but I was super excited to finally start the Urban Fairytales project. The inspiration for the project was to show childhood Fairytales in the urban setting of London and we kicked off with Red Riding Hood.

The last shot of the day was really all down to my model, she was running away laughing and as she looked back, the shot was just perfect. It wasn't planned, and I had no time to adjust settings, but luckily it all came together for a great ending to the shoot

The day was a great success, with some wonderful images. A big thanks to Glitzy Flamingo for taking some great behind the scene shots
